Mark Armitage has had 12 years international management experience within a large UK Plc and hi-tech US Corporate and has operated extensively in Central and Eastern Europe, the Former Soviet Union, Middle East, Africa, South Asia and Western Europe. He has worked at ministerial level within the public sector and at senior management levels within the commercial and retail banking sectors. His last line management position within De La Rue Plc was as Regional Managing Director Cash Systems Division Africa, Middle East and South Asia where he had full P and L responsibility for three companies based in South Africa, India and UK. His experience also includes business planning and implementation as Commercial Director of a start-up company supplying business-to-business information communication technology solutions to both the public (health) and private (retail) sectors. He has worked as a Managing Consultant mainly in the Public Sector within an medium-sized Management Consultancy firm, and was part of the senior management team responsible for business development within Europe, Middle East and Africa for a high-technology start-up business within the NCR Corporation.
For the last two and half years Mark has been working as an International Regional Business Advisor for the ICT and Digital Sector for the UK Government North West Development Agency and UK Trade and Investment. This work has involved supplying international business management advice, planning and consultancy to over 40 ICT and digital businesses across the North West of the UK during the course of the initiative.
